Stereo Moon

The moon’s looking low in the sky
And I’m seeing double
They’re dancing around and around
Bumping into each other
The city’s turned into a blur
Of white lights and silver
And I’m turning into a ghost
I’m starting to shiver

I emptied a bottle
And filled it with my own derision
Stumbled down onto the beach
And threw it out into the ocean
And watch as it lands with a splash
And sinks to the bottom
And in my daze I hope and pray
That it’ll stay gone and forgotton

With ice for skin I sit back down
And wonder how it feels to drown

Heavy head, eyelids of lead
I made a bed of pebbles and stone
And watch the stars shine
Down down on me
And all at once I felt my lungs give out
And tears settle in
O where are you now?
Where have you been?

The moons put on a show for me
And I fall under my heartbeat
